the thing i like about the fediverse is how it's decentralised so no single company can exert massive power over the internet :)

@slightlyflightyone
Exactly. This is why I always disagreed with Linux elitists about making Linux-only software. If that software we made with cross platforming in mind, many more people would have found it easier to switch. Instead, they kept using proprietary tools because no free alternatives were available for Windows.

It was a stupid decision that only made things more difficult for everyone.

@lynnesbian

@lynnesbian We are already all fucked. It's just a matter of who got compromised and when we find out about it.

@SwooshyCueb @lynnesbian Yep. The whole 3 degrees thing is bullshit. If a friend of a friend of a friend uses even a single a compromised app/service or even a compromised setting, you're gonna be swept up in the nightmare that is their NSA-recorded data.

@lynnesbian I know right? I'm so glad that I'm never gonna have to worry about data throttling or anything of the sort here, this is truly the free internet.

I definitely agr⚠️ Your data usage was reached 99%. Please upgrade your plan, or continue browsing with additional surcharges. ⚠️ee with your point

@lynnesbian probably also sent from an unfree, snoopable device made by people from the world's south and almost enslaved to their terroristic organisations which destroy and abolish the last wildernesses for undervalued and militarily secured material logistics.

@lynnesbian What makes you think someone isn't scraping the fediverse data?
